No. Random Saga membership starts at $12 USD per year for the software and service. You bring your own compatible AI provider and pay it separately. NanoGPT’s optional $12/month Pro plan is a separate purchase from NanoGPT.

NanoGPT is the provider I use myself and a convenient starting point. You can choose another compatible provider in Settings. Compare model quality, availability, privacy and cost for your own stories; we don’t promise that any provider is always the cheapest.

No. It includes selected text and image models, with allowances and limits. Its catalog also offers models outside the plan. Long story contexts and automatic story helpers consume usage too. Check the current subscription details before buying. Models, allowances and prices may change.

Use our NanoGPT referral link for 5% off eligible paid usage under NanoGPT’s referral rules. It is reusable: everyone can use the same link. This is not a promise of 5% off the subscription price or every charge, and discounts may not stack.

Random Saga receives referral rewards on qualifying activity: currently 10% of eligible usage charges and 5% of paid subscription purchases and renewals. Depositing credit alone does not earn a usage commission; eligible spending does. Included subscription usage and some routing choices or extras do not qualify. Read NanoGPT’s referral rules ↗

1. Create your own NanoGPT account and choose the plan you want. Redeem our referral link when joining.
2. In NanoGPT’s API settings, create your own API key. Set its billing mode to Subscription only if you want to prevent pay-as-you-go spending.
3. Open Random Saga’s provider settings, choose Set up text, then NanoGPT — subscription models. Paste your key.
4. Choose Find available models to load NanoGPT’s current included text models, then select one and save. One model can serve your storyteller and story helpers, or you can customize each role.

The model list comes from NanoGPT when you request it, so we don’t keep a fixed list that goes stale. You can select any returned model; some story features depend on that model’s capabilities.

The subscription model list helps you choose included models. It is not a spending lock: NanoGPT documents that the subscription endpoint can still charge your balance for requests outside coverage. Set the API key’s NanoGPT billing mode to Subscription only to have uncovered requests rejected. Review NanoGPT’s account limits and key settings too. Random Saga does not change those settings for you.

Yes, when supported by your chosen connection and model. Use the regular NanoGPT setup option for its general API catalog. Images and voice have separate setup tabs. Some images are included in NanoGPT’s plan; premium text models, voice and other extras may require paid credits. Check the provider’s current pricing before generating.

Your key is saved privately to your Random Saga account and used by the website server to contact your selected provider. It is not shared with scenario creators or other members. Each person needs their own provider account and subscription; your subscription is not pooled with other members.

A valid Random Saga invite code can grant a year of Random Saga membership. It does not provide a NanoGPT account, subscription or API credits.
